Luverna L. Haywood age 93 went to be with the Lord 4 days before her 94th birthday on June 5, 2011 at home. She was born June 9, 1917 at Dry Branch and she was the daughter of the late Jake and Lucy Hudnall Mullins. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jim Haywood; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ at Hansford.
Surviving: daughters Shelva McMillion and her husband Kenneth of Hurricane and Caroline Penczek and her husband Tom of Marmet; sons Jesse Haywood and Virgil Haywood both of Gallagher; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Care for their wonderful care and also her special friend and care giver Gary Bill.
Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Mark Hughes and Rev. Ralph Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call from 6 until 8 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
