Lyle Jason McCarthy age 67 of Gallagher entered into eternal Peace with The Lord Jesus on Tuesday August 20, 2013. Jay was born April 23, 1946 and accepted the Lord in his life March 5, 1995. He was baptized June 17 of that same year and demonstrated that relationship with His Savior daily ever since. He was instrumental in the leadership of Gallagher Baptist Church as a Deacon for many years, and since has been a member of Crown Hill Freewill Baptist Church.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Evert and Bessie Mae McCarthy; also three brothers, Merle of Ohio, Wayne of Mason Co. and Clarence of Summersville and also one sister Mary Bea of Gallagher.

Jay is survived by his loving wife, Wanda McCarthy; sons, Thomas McCarthy of Beckley and Lyle J. McCarthy of Lavalette, WV; brother, Dale McCarthy of Point Pleasant; sisters, Linda, Bessie, Janet, Fay and Joyce; Jay was also loved by his 12 grandkids and 3 great grandkids and a large host of friends.

Service will be 1:00 Saturday at Crown Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Crown Hill with Rev. Carl Pomeroy and Rev. Lawrence Abner officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call Friday from 6 PM until 9 PM at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery.
