Obituary for Lynn Arden Shelton

Lynn Arden Shelton
Lynn Arden Shelton, 83, of Cabin Creek, WV, went home to eternal peace on December 24, 2023.

He was a man who lived on the simple side of an old school life. He retired from his security position after 30 years of service with Calhoun Logging. He shared many trades in his lifetime but is well known for being a shade tree mechanic. He spent a lot of his time being outdoors with all the things he loved including his dogs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a man with a large family, and he left his mark on many hearts. His love went above and beyond any measure. He was a selfless, non-judgmental, stubborn, and valued man. He showed a great interest in country music and dance and spent his weekends with friends at the Belle dance hall.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Talmadge, and Mamie (Proctor) Shelton. His wife of 20 years, Cindy. His son, Glen Allen. His siblings; Delores, Margaret, Patty, Barbara, Dorsel, and James. And the mother of his children, Shirley.

He is survived by his children. David (Tammy), Jeannie (Larry), Lisa (Rich), Arden (Denita), Dorsel (Robyn), Sabrina (Cam). Stepchildren; Amy, Crystal, and Angie. 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, many surrogate family members, and companion, Glenna (Lori).

The family would like to honor Lyn’s life and memory on Saturday, April 27, 2024, with a private memorial and encourage everyone who knew him to reach out to Dorsel or Sabrina for details. O’Dell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
