Obituary for Madge Rider

Madge Rider age 85 of Montgomery went home to be with the Lord on October 2, 2009 from the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston after a long illness. She was preceded in death and she joined in Heaven her husband of 45 years Clarence J. “Sim” Rider, her parents Carl and Della Profitt, her niece Sharon Mussetto Matthews and her nephew John Mussetto.
Madge is survived by her son and his wife C. J. and Brenda Rider of Elkview and their son and her grandson Jonathan; her sister Mabel Mussetto formerly of Montgomery, her great-niece Melanie Hummel and her husband Judge David Hummel Jr. of Moundsville and their two sons David and Hunter; her niece Kathy Mussetto of Greenville, SC and her son and daughter-in-law John Michael and Desiree Mussetto of Simpsonville, SC. An her son Justin Mussetto of Greenville, SC.
Madge was a 1944 graduate of Montgomery High School where she was a majorette. She was a devoted, loving and successful housewife and mother. She volunteered at Montgomery General Elderly Care for several years before becoming a resident there in her final years. Madge attended Montgomery Baptist Church where her son is the Pastor.
Her family wishes to express their thanks to the nurses and staff of Montgomery General Elderly Care and the Hubbard Hospice House for their care of Madge.
Service will be 2:00 PM Monday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Friends may call 2 hours prior to service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.odellfuneralhome.com.
