Mary Ashburn Crook, was born in Charleston, WV on February 5, 1942 to the late Harry and Della Minnis and departed this life on Friday, January 6, 2012.
She was a faithful and committed member of Harewood Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer. She was also a devoted member of the Sick & Shut-In Ministry and the Choir.
She leaves to cherish her memory her companion, Alexander Allen; her son and his beloved wife Devoyal and Kyra Crook of Columbus, OH; a devoted aunt, Pauline Timmons of Smithers, WV; sisters: Colleen Turner of Lawton, OK, Shirley (Arthur) Collins of Elkhart, IN, and Chiquita (Johnnie) Pearson of Fort Washington, MD; brothers: Johnny (Barbara) English of Fort Washington, MD and Larry Benton of Columbus, OH; grandchildren: Gregory Payne, Kyrell (Brittani) Crook, Devoyal Crook Jr., Devina Crook, Jordyn Crook, and Antonio Robinson; great granddaughter: Karsyn Hancock and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at First Missionary Baptist in Smithers with Pastor Freddie A. Davenport Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Haven Memorial Park at Ingram Branch.
