Obituary for Mary Rose Laing

Our Beautiful Angel, Mary Rose Laing, 85, of Cannelton, West Virginia entered into eternal life on Monday, June 2, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mary Rose was born April 21, 1929 to the late John and Madeline (Martin) Howery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Laing; daughter Jackie Griffith; sisters, Joyce (BoBo) Honaker of Maryland; Nanci Thornton of Wisconsin; and daughter-in-law Janie Laing of Cannelton.

She is survived by her Children; Donnie Laing of Cannelton; Susie (Gary) Smith of Belle; Zenda Griffith of Belle; CH (Mary) Laing of Smithers; Cathy (Clarence) Mullins of Hugheston; 12 loving Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Sisters, Patricia (Keith) Richmond of Maryland; Rebecca (Steve) Gwinn of Beckley; Linda (Frank) Pierse of Ohio; Wanda Folden of Mongomery; Karen (Otie) Garris of Fallsview; 2 Brothers, John Howery of Florida and Chip (Becky) Howery of Hinton.

Mary Rose attended the Oakland Church of God in Smithers,West Virginia , where she was loved by many.

The family would like to thank the Third Floor staff of Montgomery General Hospital, Cabell Huntington Hospital, and CAMC General Hospital for all the wonderful care, love and compassion they showed for our Mother.

The family will receive friends on Thursday June 5, 2014 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery, West Virginia.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held the following day, Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at O'Dell Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Van Fossen and Chaplain Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
