Mary Elizabeth Frank Miller age 87 of Smithers passed away Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness. She was born May 12, 1921 in Smithers and was the daughter of the late Francesco and Sarafina DeFranco. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lester James Miller; brothers Sam DeFranco, Dominick Frank, John DeFrank, Tony Frank, Pete Frank, Bill Frank and Joe Frank and a sister Rose White.
She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Shrine/Immaculate Comception Catholic Parish in Boomer and Montgomery. She was a member of the United Food and Commerical Workers Local 400 and she was retired from Pennyfare in Smithers.
Surviving: daughters Lynette Cavalier and her husband Sam and Margaret “Meg” Maynor and her husband Joey; a grandson Johnny Whitt and a granddaughter Lesley Cavalier all of Smithers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at St. Anthony Shrine Catholic Church in Boomer with Fr. John Rice as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Friends may call from 6 until 8 on Tuesday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the St. Anthony Shrine/Immaculate Catholic Parish, Box 65, Montgomery, WV 25136.
