Myrtle Marie Higley, age 94, passed away January 5, 2024. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of The Good Shephard Church in Hansford, West Virginia. She enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards, knitting, playing bingo and she was an avid bowler. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Marion "Mike" Lewis Higley; parents Arthur and Mae Carpenter; her brother, Charles Carpenter; and her sister, Phyllis Miller.

She is survived by her son, Edward Higley, of Kincheloe Michigan; her daughter, Donna Caldwell (Wayne), of Hueytown, Alabama; her grandchildren, Jason Higley, Nathan Higley, Jeannine Vaughan (Nathanael), Jonathan Caldwell (Allison), Michael Higley, Angel Higley, Abbie Higley, and Nya Higley; her great-grandchildren, Nicolas Higley, Madelyn Vaughan, Samuel Vaughan, William Vaughan, Lillian Caldwell, and Zachary Caldwell.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Montgomery Memorial Park in London, West Virginia with Fr. Stan Holmes officiating. O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
