Obituary for Nathaniel L. "Cochise" Johnson

Nathaniel (Cochise) Johnson was born on December 13, 1953 at Montgomery General Hospital to William and Shirley Johnson. He attended Fayette County schools and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1973. He worked at North America Roofing Systems, along with several other places, but his most rewarding job was his lawn care service. He was a very special person and touched many hearts in so many different ways. He was a person that spoke his mind and didn’t mind telling you how he felt, whether you liked it or not. He enjoyed working outside, helping others, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Kimberly, WV.
Nathaniel met and fell in love with Bonita Washington in 1971. After going their separate ways, they were reunited in November 1989 and were married on August 23, 1996.
He was preceded in death by his father, his brothers David and William (Duke), and his wife Teresa Harrison-McGee, his sister-in-law, Cora M. Washington, and his father-in-law, James R. Washington, Sr. He leaves to forever cherish his memory: Wife, Bonita Washington-Johnson, Kincaid, WV. Daughter: Leeanne Johnson, Columbus OH. Mother, Shirley Johnson, Beards Fork, WV; Sisters: Shirldenia Burrow, Kimberly WV; Sondra (William) Judd, Beards Fork, WV; Deborah (Joseph) Barrett, Columbus, OH; Tammy (Ronnie) Stewart, Kimberly, WV; Carolita (Wendell) Hall, Lexington, KY. Brothers: Alphonso (Theresa) Johnson, Mt. Carbon, WV; Kenneth (JoAnn) Johnson, Beards Fork, WV; Derek (Ashley) Johnson, Charleston, WV and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. On Tuesday, July 26, he went home to be with the Lord, a place where there’s no more weeping, pain, sorrow, or disappointments. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A Special Thanks to Montgomery Hospital Staff, and a very special thanks to Dr. Sankari and Dr. Bhirud .
The Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Kimberly, WV. with Rev. Larry Smith officiating.
