Obituary for Paul T. Adkins

Paul T. Adkins age 90 of Livingston went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2015 with his loving wife of 71 years holding him. Paul served in WWII in the US Army in Belgium, France, Holland and Germany. He was retired from Imperial Colliery at Burnwell with 41 years service. Paul was a member of the Gallagher Church of the Nazarene serving in every capacity he could. He and Bill Martin built the church in 1957 with the help of their wives and the teenagers of the community.

His family was privileged and proud to call him "Daddy, PaPaw, Friend, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather". He created many memories with all of the family and taught all of us many life lessons from the value of hard work, honesty, integrity and even carpentry shills. He always took time to play with a grandchild or take them on a walk and he was always playing a trick or teasing his grandchildren. He always put his family first and taught them to love each other unconditionally.

He was preceded in death by his son Paul Edmond Adkins; parents Denver and Selva Reeves Adkins; brother Clarence Adkins and sisters Evelyn Vealey and Delores Kidd.

Paul is survived by the love of his life since Jr. High School, Georgiana "Ann" Adkins; daughters and sons-in-law Joyce and David Embrey and Becky and Leonard Clark all of East Bank; grandchildren and their spouses David Lee and Gwen Embrey, Jimmy Embrey, Timmy and Melinda Embrey, Debbie and Butch Filbin, Rachel and Tim Kirk, Michael and Jennifer Clark and Greg and Samantha Clark; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, November 9th, 2015 at the Gallagher Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Mitchell and Rev. Kevin Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London with Military honors. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery where expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
