Obituary for Peachie "Pete" Rogers

Peachie “Pete” Camella (Waldron) Rogers was born August 25, 1918, in Botetout County, Virginia and passed away August 10, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late William S. and Danie Nutter Waldron. She was a homemaker throughout her life. She loved growing a garden, canning vegetables and cooking for her family. She was loved and adored by all of her children who already miss her dearly. The grandchildren especially loved spending time with her and affectingly called her by her nickname Grandma Pete. She was always willing to share an affectionate smile or a meal with friends in her neighborhood who called her Miss Peachie. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Lilly of the Valley Baptist Church in Fincastle, VA.
She was united in marriage to Charles O. Rogers on July 2, 1936. In 1939 Charles and Peachie moved to West Virginia and started a family. To this union six children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles O. Rogers; two sons, James (Blushie) and Charles (June) Rogers; three brothers, Kenneth, Ennis & Lomax Waldron, two sisters, Edith Martin and Dena Higginbotham.
She is survived by two sons, Alan (Tonya) Rogers of Dumbar, WV, Bobby (Brenda) Rogers of Deepwater, WV and two daughters, Linda Rogers of Powellton, WV and Janet Tolliver (late husband Mike) of Smithers, WV, one sister, Dematrice (Mae) Journiette of Roanoke, WA; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2011 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. William Kinney officiating. Burial will be in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow.
