Obituary for Rev. Thomas Henry Gravely

Thomas "Henry" Gravely was one of twelve children born to William B. and Pearl Gravely. He was born on June 11, 1953, and departed this earthly life on July 17, 2014.
Henry expressed a love for Christ at an early age and joined in the church family of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Carbondale. While there, he became an Associate Pastor and later became Pastor of First Baptist Church of Hansford and remained Pastor until his death. Henry retired from Elkem Metal in Alloy, WV.
On July 17. God, in his infinite wisdom, at Charleston Memorial Hospital after a short illness, spoke to one of the dispatching angels to go guide Henry home. There's nothing on earth he needs to be concerned with now. Work undone is now considered finished.
Henry was preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Pearl Gravely; sisters Madeline Gravely and Priscilla Patterson; and brothers Robert Gravely and Bill Gravely.
Left to cherish many fond memories and the lovely smile he always carried are his loving wife, Won (Ann); Children Teresa Smith of Buffalo, New York: Chong Ann (Ronald) Ford; Thomas Henry Gravely, Jr.; Linda (Rod) Coles; John (Tonette); Sisters Mary (Eddie) Price of Buffalo, NY; Dorothy James of Buffalo, NY: Bernice Gravely of Buffalo, NY; Diane Walker of Buffalo, NY; Brothers Walter (Linda) of Montgomery, WV; Wayne (Maria) of Columbus, OH; Rick (Tina) of Charleston, WV: and one Uncle Garfield Bohanna, Sr. of Montgomery, WV; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family.
Service will be 12 Noon Saturday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Carbondale with Rev. Cornell Byers and Rev. Robert Morton officiating. Entombment will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow. Friends may call 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery and also 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Carbondale.
