Obituary for Robert Lincoln Monday Jr.
Robert Lincoln Monday Jr, age 88 of Montgomery died September 5, 2013. He was born July 23, 1925 in Carbondale and was the son of the late Robert Lincoln and Effie Phillips Monday Sr,.
Bob was retired from Elkem Metal in Alloy and a US Navy veteran serving in WWII. He was also an avid walker that was known in the community as "Walking Man" and was an all around very hard working man.
He is survived by his wife Christine King Monday; children; William G. Monday of Petersburg, VA, Marilyn Byerly of Ft. Myers, FL, Debbie Yakovsky and Kimberly Johnson, both of Montgomery; special nephew, Larry Tucker of Summersville; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1:30 PM Sunday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment with military honors will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hubbard Hospice House 1606 Kanawha Blvd., West, Charleston, WV 25387
