Obituary for Ronald Dean Wriston


Ronald went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born in Clear Creek, WV on January 13, 1940. He was a retired Coal Miner.

He was preceded in death by Fathers; Carvis Wriston and Billy Queen, Mother Madeline Toney Wriston Queen, Grandparents; Belle and Wayman Wriston, Hazel and Reggie Webb, and Sister in law; Karen Queen. Special Aunt & Uncle Joveline and Clarence Williams of Beckley. In-laws; Wesley and Theresa Lipford, who were like his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Patricia (Lipford) Wriston. Sons and their wives: Dean & Kim Wriston of Baltimore, MD, Chris & Shelly Wriston of Hugheston, John and Doris Wriston of Glasgow and Paul & Tina Wriston of Hugheston. Sister Diane & Clifton Ashley of Beckley. Brothers; Kelly & Barb Wriston of Clear Creek, Billy Bryant & Norma Queen of St. Marys and Johnny Ray Queen of Mineral Wells. Ten Grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and one due in May, all whom he loved unconditionally. He was admired and loved by a host of nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Hughes Creek Community Church and deeply loved his Pastor and wife Gary and Barbara Tucker. Our Daddy loved all his Church family. Dad and Gary “Little Man” Tucker are in the hills of home reunited once again.

We want to thank his special friends Ray Tucker and Anna Wilkinson and Judy Buckley for their help, love, and thoughtfulness throughout the years; his Doctors: T. Jagannath, Jash Thakker and Doctor Eke and Doctor Cole and her assistant Letha.

Special thanks to all of the CCU nurses at CAMC Memorial for their compassion and excellent care. They not only treated the patient, they treated the entire family. To the nurses on 5 South and Max on 4 north, thank you. Special thanks also goes to Jerry and the staff at O'Dell Funeral Home for their loving and professional care.

Ronald's family wishes that all who come to his visitation will also stay and attend his funeral service at 7:00 PM on Sunday at the Hughes Creek Community Church with Pastor Gary Tucker officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 and the service will begin at 7:00 PM.
