Roy Douglas Middleton age 62 of Kimberly formerly of Gastonia, North Carolina died May 27, 2009. He was born January 30, 1947 in Montgomery and is the son of Marlin Middleton Sr. of Kimberly and the late June Viola Meredith.
He was a retired Tax Assessor from Gastonia County, NC and he was a veteran of the US Army and the US Air Force. He was a 1969 Graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology and was a 1975 graduate earning his masters degree at the University of South Carolina.
Surviving: father Marlin Middleton Sr. of Kimberly; sisters Lou Ann Stanley of Kimberly, Melina McNabb of Montgomery and Marlene Middleton of Victor; brothers Ronnie Meredith of Mt. Carbon, George Middleton of Mt. Carbon and Freddy Middleton of Mt. Carbon; several nieces and nephews.
He loved gardening surrounding himself with his family and faithful companion, his dog “Lucky”.
Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Kimberly Church of God with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements.
