Rufus McArthur Phillips, 72, of Montgomery, died January 13, 2014. He was born January 1, 1942, in Riverside and was the son of the late Howard and Bessie Miller Phillips.

He was a Baptist and a former coal miner.

Surviving, brother, Cledith Phillips; several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with the Pastor Jeff Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Cedar Grove.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
