Ruthie Mae Legg Bennett age 65 of Powellton went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born December 23, 1948 in Cannelton and was the daughter of the late Garlie and Gloria Holdren Legg. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wayne Bennett and her son Garlie Michael Bennett.

She attended the Open Door Community Church in Powellton.

Surviving: children Butch Bennett of Clendenin, Tina Bowen and her husband Kevin of Powellton and Brian Bennett and his wife Donya of Cabin Creek; sisters Nancy Fugate and her husband Russ of Powellton, Ann Warner of Hurricane, Bonnie Simpson and her husband Dale of Cannelton and Pamela Prather and her husband Clarence of Powellton; 8 grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.

Graveside service will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow with Rev. Greg Francis officiating. Burial will follow in the memorial garden. O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
