Obituary for Sandra Lee Slater

Sandra Lee Jarrett Slater age 66 of Holly Grove went home to sleep in the Lord and Savior on December 3, 2016 after a long illness with her loving husband and family by her side. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother Mildred G. Jarrett and grandson Terry Wayne Slater.

She attended East Bank High School and that is where she meet the love of her life for 46 years Charles. She first meet him at the age of 17. They graduated together in 1968 and married July 4, 1970.

Sandy loved her family so that she made sure they always had what they needed. She took care of the love of her life until the very end. There was no love like the love they had for one another.

She retired from Kanawha County Schools with 12 years of service.

Sandy was a faithful servant of God and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ at Morris Drive in Montgomery. She was a loving wife, a very devout Christian who loved and served God the best she knew how and a very loving mother. She always had a kind word and she loved her family with all she had to love with; her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, brothers and sister.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Charles Slater; sons Charles "Chuck" Slater and Robert Bert Slater and his wife Lynn; father Denver L. Jarrett and his wife Ellen; sister Debra Jarrett; brother Denver Jarrett and his wife Elaine; one grandchild Savanah Slater and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.

Service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Pastor Frank Brown and Greg Petry officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
