Obituary for Sharon Rose Fannin

Sharon Rose Fannin, 67, of Smithers, left the arms of her family and went to the arms of her Savior on Sunday, January 5, at CAMC General Hospital.

Sharon was born in Cannelton on April 12, 1946 and was the daughter of George and Imogene Oiler Roat of Cannelton. She devoted her life to caring for others, especially children. Sharon was a Christian and served the Lord at Bethel Church in Smithers where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and planning church functions, especially dinners.

Sharon was preceded in death by her precious babies William Brian, Gregory Scott and Marsha Renee; brothers Elmer "Bo" Roat and Gary Wayne Roat; and sisters Alice Jarrett and Elizabeth "Libby" Petry.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 47 years, William "Jim" Fannin of Cannelton; son, James "Tiner" (Brenda) Fannin of Handley; grandsons, Chad Rogers and Joshua Fannin both of Handley; granddaughter Kristina (Chad) Bailey of Milton; great grandchildren Abigail, Jaren, Colt and Isabella; sisters Georgie Watson and Diane Legg both of Cannelton and also many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Donald Bohanna officiating. Burial will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.

Friends may call 6 PM- 9 PM Thursday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery.

The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to Dr. Christiano, Dr. DePriest, Dr. Shirley and all of the nurses and staff of the NSICU at CAMC General Hospital.
