Condolences

Condolence From: Nancy Meads Spears
Condolence: Steve and I grew up together in Pratt. I cherish my memories of school, church and simply “hanging out” together. He loved the band and was one of the reasons I joined the band. I always looked forward to seeing him when I came home. I can’t believe he is gone. My heart just breaks, for his sister Ann, his brother John and the rest of his family.

Condolence: I loved hearing Steve play “Summertime” on his trombone. He performed this song with so much feeling and emotion. His mom, Alice, was my music teacher at Pratt Jr High.

I will truly miss Steve at the All Class Reunions where he performed with the Exiles.
Rest in Peace, my friend. 🙏✝️

Condolence: My Mother and I moved from Crown Hill to Pratt just before I started school at Pratt Jr High. Steve and I became friends and attended both Pratt Jr High and East Bank HS together. We both also attended Old Kanawha Baptist Church in Pratt.

Although we hadn't seen each other for years, I recall his great personality and talent for music. He was always positive about things and had a warm friendly personality.

He will be sorely missed by many people including myself. He was one of the good guys for sure.

RIP Steve

Condolence: I remember Stevie from BYF at Old Kanawha Baptist Church in Pratt and my Mom was the teacher. I was older but we both grew up in Pratt and East Bank. Later we both played in The Exiles and he was a great trombone player but my favorite song we did was Wild Thing and Joe Moss sang it. Stevie banged the cow bell. It was a hoot! Out of the blue a couple weeks ago he called me to tell me about his impending surgery. I told him to let me know how it went. Stevie was a sweet guy and always had a smile for everyone. Not gonna be the same without him.
