Obituary for Sylvia Mae Propps

Sylvia Mae Propps, 78, of Montgomery, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston.
She was born December 3, 1934 in Minden, daughter of the late Jennings M. and Mary Fodor Propps. She was a longtime resident of Montgomery, graduated from Montgomery High School, and earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Marshall University. She was a retired Fayette County school teacher, after teaching many years at Kimberly Elementary School. She was a member of the Kanawha Salines Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jennings M. Propps II; and her sister, Julia Propps Ammar. Surviving are her niece, Linda Ammar Harshbarger of Georgetown, Ky.; nephews Douglas B. Ammar of Atlanta, Ga., and Gregory S. Ammar of DeKalb, Ill.; five great nieces and nephews, and three great-grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 5,2013 with Rev. John Appleton officiating.Friends may call from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday at O'Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvia's name may be made to the Kanawha Salines Presbyterian Church, 4303 Salines Drive, Charleston, WV 25306.
