Vivian Nadine Morgan Clark Meeker, 82, of Yawkey went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, August 11, 2013 at Thomas Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Nadine was born in Twin Branch, WV on April 5, 1931, and was the fourth child of Roby L. and Maude Caudle Morgan. She was a member of the Porter Fork Baptist Church in Yawkey where she served as the church pianist and as a Bible teacher. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting, music and cooking. She worked as a Master Barber/Lead Instructor at the Charleston Barber College for many years. She was the owner/operator of Nadine’s Barber Shop in Yawkey for over forty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph Meeker; six brothers, Louis, William, James, Raymond, Garner and Ronald Morgan; and one son, Carlos Richard Clark.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Wanda Bird and her husband Rev. J. Chester Bird of Charleston; son C. Patrick Clark and his wife Robin of Scott Depot; brother, Michael Morgan and his wife Judy of Huntington; sister, Janice Gillenwater of Williamson and Freda Mattingly and her husband William of Leitchfield, KY; grandchildren, J. Richard Bird and wife Terri of Indian Trail, NC John Bird of Charleston, Joshua and Jordan Clark of Scott Depot; great grandchildren, Joel, Brandon and Cassandra Bird of Indian Trail, NC.

Service will be 3 p.m. Thursday, at Amy Baptist Church, Yawkey. with Rev. J Chester Bird and Rev. Richard Ruby officiating. Burial will follow in Orchard Hill Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call one hour prior to the service the church.
