Obituary for William Ernest Hodge Jr.

William Ernest  Hodge Jr.
William E. Hodge Jr. was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Jan. 15, 2024, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on March 3, 1957, in Charleston WV, was the son of the late Mr and Ms. William Hodge Sr. Along with his parents he was proceeded in death by brothers Paul, Bob, and his sister Lois Hodge.

Throughout his life, Bill had a successful career as the proud owner of Hodge Construction for 40 years. He was a true Jack of all trades and obtained several licenses and certifications. Bill’s hard work and dedication were evident in every project he undertook and will be remembered for years to come. He never slowed down and worked till the very end. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #158 AF&AM in Chelyan, WV.

Bill was a loving father and devoted husband to Terri, who was the love of his life and married for 48 years.

Bill enjoyed his vacations cruising with the cruise crew creating cherished memories along the way. He was always ready to book another one. Some of his best times were spent at camp with his son and buddies, David, Skip, and Jeff. They spent many weekends together building his little piece of paradise. He loved nothing more than for his friends and family to come and have a good time.

Left to cherish his loving memory and carry on his legacy are his wife Terri, son William E Hodge III, wife Chris, daughter Ashley Hodge and Jeff Stevens, grandchildren Kyleigh and Laci Hodge, step grandchildren Tabitha Miller; and great grandchildren Cohen and Cerelia Walker, Mother in Law Alice Hodge, Brother in law David Fitzpatrick, sister and brother in law; Toni and Bob Hibbs, and special nephew Beau Hodge and many other extended family.

A funeral service to honor Bill’s life will be held on Jan. 22nd at 6:00pm at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery with Pastor Gray Frampton officiating. Visitation starts at 5:00pm at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery. Bill’s passing leaves behind a major void in the hearts of the ones who knew him. He will be remembered by his remarkable sense of humor and infectious smile. His kind loving soul will live on through the ones closest to him.
