William A. Richmond age 89 of Boomer died August 13, 2009. He was born May 13, 1920 in Pluto, Raleigh County and was the son of the late Wriston and Calley Vest Richmond.
He was retired from Elkem Metals at Alloy and of a World War II veteran of the US Army and a recipitant of the Purple Heart. He was previously a representative for Fuller Brush Company and a member of Boomer Baptist Church.
Surviving: wife Dorothy Lanham Richmond; sister Iva Fortner of Beckley; five step children; nieces and nephew who he raised Andrea Fordyce, Denise Miller and Charles Robert William Hanson and many other nieces and nephews.
Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Boomer Baptist Church with his nephew Rev. Joe Brown and Pastor James Neeson officiating. Entombment will follow at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow.
