Obituary for William A. Smith

Pastor William A. Smith age 72 of Kimberly died March 9, 2014. He was born March 30, 1941 at Kimberly and was the son of the late William Virgil and Kathleen June Hartwell Smith.

He was the Pastor of Kimberly Church of God for 25 years and he was a retired Chief Petty Officer from the United States Navy. He was former president of Allegheny Regional Conference of Winebreener Churches of God. Bill was an avid golfer and West Virginia Mountaineer Fan..

Surviving is his wife, retired RN Carole Smith; children Deborah Ann Smith of Kimberly, Michael H. Smith and his wife Sarah of Hurricane and Kelly J. DeVincent and her husband John of Charleston; brothers Donald "Smitty" Smith and his wife Peggy of Kimberly and James R. Smith and his wife Terri of Montgomery; sisters Joan Bowen and her husband John of Pinch and Michele Null and her husband Mark of Charleston ; grandchildren Faith Jarrett, Adam Young, Madison Smith and Makenna Smith and Chloe and Christian DeVincent; Seven great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Kimberly Church of God with Evangelist John Wishon and John DeVincent officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park in London. Friends may call from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday at the Church.
