Donald Gene "Donnie" Hutchinson, 72, of Powellton went home to be with the Lord April 10, 2013. He was born April 13, 1941 to the late Claude and Drucilla Hutchinson of Cedar Grove, WV. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lauretta Hutchinson and older brother, Tommy Hutchinson.

Donald worked for Allstate Insurance Company for several years until his retirement. He spent his retirement years loving and spending time with his children, grandchildren and doing work around the house with his brother Cliff. He was a graduate of Cedar Grove High School class of 1959, and a West Virginia Tech class of 1964. Donald was always active doing something to help someone or the community. He was also a school teacher in the Kanawha County school system for several years.

Those left to cherish his memory are son, Lawrence E. Hutchinson of Charleston and Donald D. (Tamika) Hutchinson of Powellton, daughter Anitra D. Hutchinson of Kimberly; also surviving are his loving grandchildren, Darius, Dionte, Kiera, Michael, Sakiah, Isaiah and Ravi; three sisters, Pauline Hutchinson of Cedar Grove, Jill Foster of St. Albans and Josephine Daniels also of St. Albans; two brothers, Clifford Hutchinson of Cedar Grove , Claude Hutchinson of Hazelett, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews , relatives and friends.

Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday April 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Powellton with Rev. William Kinney officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the beginning of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Meadow Haven Memorial Park, Ingram Branch.
