Obituary for Peggy Sue Stewart (Lovejoy)

Peggy Sue Stewart (Lovejoy)
Peggy Sue Lovejoy Stewart spread her wings and flew into the arms of Jesus on the morning of April 7, 2013. She started her journey to Heaven at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Peggy was born on April 11, 1950 in the Elk Ridge and Powellton area of West Virginia, to Algie and Macel Lovejoy. She continued to live in the area until the age of sixteen when she married her husband Clarence. Their life together took them to Ohio, California, Texas and Michigan. Peggy loved the hills she grew up in, and upon retiring, she and Clarence moved back to West Virginia and settled in Kincaid. Peggy was a devoted Christian and a member of Page Baptist Church. She loved to pray, sing, scrapbook, and read. Above all else, she loved her grandchildren, husband and the Lord.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, Ernest Lovejoy and niece Jeanette Lovejoy. Those left behind to celebrate her life include her husband of forty-six years, Clarence; sons Tony and wife Dana Stewart of Cocoa, FL and Paul Stewart, daughter Dortha and husband Josh Rhodes of Fairmont; brothers Robert, Damon, and Algie Lovejoy Jr;; sisters Tressie Young, Macel Young, Elsie Bentley and Nelda Tucker; grandchildren Peggy Leanne, Anthony, Destiny and Malia Stewart of Cocoa, FL., Jada Rhodes of Fairmont and Adrianna Davis, father being Brandon Davis; great grandchild Varae Lynn. Also left behind are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She took pleasure in doing good deeds for others and always put the needs of others before her own. She touched the lives of so many people and was truly an angel on Earth.

Service will be 12:00 Noon Saturday at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery with Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. Friends may call from 6 to 9 on Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be sent at www.odellfuneralhome.com
