Condolences

Condolence From: Lantz G. Rankin
Condolence: I met Bob at Westmoreland Coal and was priviledged to have been on his mine rescue team there for a few years. I respected him immensely for him wisdom and experience. I recall an assuming story he told once that when he was super at a mine that a large snow came and no one showed up for work but he needed men to make up a coal crew. He called a certain miner operator who said he could not make it because he only had a car. Desiring to make up a crew, he asked the man if he had a set of tire chains to which the man replied that he might put on a pair of chains to get home, he wasn't going to put on a pair of chains to leave home. Bob always took good care of us on the trips for the mine rescue contests and stood up for us to get respect for being willing to do the task. In Christ's name I pray peace and comfort for your family at his passing.
